Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This site is operated by Daemon Grey, a solo recording artist based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and buttons people use. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers, and the music and video players on this site do not load anything until you click them. If you join the email list, we use your address to send you music news and nothing else.

Information collected automatically

When you visit daemongrey.co, our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) records standard technical information: the pages you view, the approximate location derived from your IP address (typically city or region level), your device type, browser, screen size, referring website, and the actions you take on the page, such as clicking a streaming link, playing a video, or opening the store.

This is used to understand which music, videos and articles people are interested in and which parts of the site work. It is not used to build advertising profiles, and it is never combined with your name or email address.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. You can block or delete them at any time in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them does not break anything on this site.

Embedded players and third parties

This site deliberately loads third-party players only when you ask for them. Video thumbnails are static images until you press play; the streaming player on the home page does not load until you click the button. Nothing from YouTube or Spotify runs in your browser before that point.

When you do press play, or when you follow a link to another service, that service's own privacy policy applies and it may set its own cookies. Video embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). The third parties this site can hand you off to are Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Bandcamp, Deezer, SoundCloud, Last.fm, Instagram, Facebook, Discogs, and the Out Of Line online shop.

Email list

If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the date you subscribed. We use it to send occasional messages about new music, videos and releases. We do not sell, rent or share email addresses, and every message includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Signups use double opt-in, meaning you must confirm your address before any mail is sent. This is standard practice and also what Canada's anti-spam legislation expects.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
  • We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels.
  • We do not ask for payment details on this site. Purchases happen on Bandcamp or the Out Of Line shop, under their own policies.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent, or to object to certain processing. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; visitors in Canada have comparable rights under PIPEDA. To make a request, use the contact channels.

Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period under our account settings and is not linked to your identity. Email list data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
